A breeder referral is a starting point, not a guarantee of availability. Puppies and adult dogs may not always be available, and responsible breeders may have waiting lists.

PWCCGA's goal is to help prospective owners learn about the breed, understand what to look for in a responsible breeder, and make a decision that's right for both the family and the dog.

Before You Choose a Pembroke Welsh Corgi

A responsible breeder should be willing to discuss:

  • Health testing and genetic screening

  • The health history of the parents

  • Temperament and socialization

  • How puppies are raised and cared for

  • Registration and pedigree

  • Vaccinations and veterinary care

  • Contracts and guarantees

  • What happens if you can no longer keep the dog

  • Whether the breeder will remain a resource throughout the dog's life
